PARIS CROSSING

Douglas Wayne Sitterding, 57, of Paris Crossing passed away Wednesday, April 27, 2016, at his home.

Born Jan. 19, 1959, in Seymour, he was the son of Alvin and Opal L. Trueblood Sitterding, both of whom preceded him in death.

Doug was a loved son, brother, uncle, brother-in-law and friend. He worked as a maintenance technician until his retirement. He was an avid outdoorsman, who found joy in fishing and hunting. Some of his best moments were spent in his garage and out riding his motorcycle. Other than being outdoors, he also was very involved with his family. His family meant everything to him, and he would do anything for anyone. Doug will be dearly missed, and we have been left with many great memories.

Survivors include his brothers, Alvin J. (Jeannie) Sitterding Jr., Jerry (Linda) Sitterding and Steven (Vickie) Sitterding; his nieces and nephews, Joe (Tracy) Sitterding, Tim (Jan) Sitterding, Clint (Courtney) Sitterding, Matt (Melissa) Sitterding, Brian (Heather) Sitterding, Corey Sitterding and Jaime Deiters; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved dog, Smokey.

A celebration of life for family and friends will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at 7290 W. State Road 250, Paris Crossing. Those planning to attend are asked to bring lawn chairs. The Sitterding family would like to say a special thank-you to Lori and Diane from hospice for taking such wonderful care of Doug.

Memorials may be made to Schneck Hospice.

Voss and Sons Funeral Service in Seymour handled the arrangements.
