Charles Eugene “Gene” Freeman, 78, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, May 25, 2016, at Norton’s Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

Born Nov. 19, 1937, in Salem, he was the son of Charles B. Freeman and Lula J. Wheeler Cox, both of whom preceded him in death.

Survivors include daughter, Joan Freeman, Crothersville; sons, Andy (Linda) Freeman, Roger D. Freeman and Lester E. Freeman, all of Seymour; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Freeman, and a sister, Geneva Graves.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Buchanan Funeral Home in Austin with the Rev. Herbie White officiating. Cremation will follow.

Visitation will be from noon until time of service Friday.
