Robert F. “Bob” Trueblood, 77, of Seymour passed away Thursday, May 19, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born Aug. 2, 1938, in Medora, he was the son of Francis Marion “Chin” and Edith Thralls Trueblood. He married Shirley K. Berry on April 15, 1967, in Connersville, and she survives.

Bob was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Seymour. A 1956 graduate of Medora High School and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, he retired in 2000 from being a cross-country truck driver. He was a member of Eagles Aerie 655, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1925 and was a Past Master of Jackson Lodge 146 Free and Accepted Masons, Seymour. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and was an avid gun enthusiast, who was an active member of the United States Practical Shooting Association. It was this love of guns that led him, along with his wife, Shirley, to open Bite the Bullet Gun Shop, which he ran until 2011.

Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Westley Duane (Becky) Trueblood, Robert C. (Lisa) Trueblood, Lorelei Trueblood and Michael S. (Elisabeth) Trueblood; 17 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; brother, Joe Thomas (Judy) Trueblood; and a sister, Amy Lee (Tom) Kutch.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Voss Chapel with Pastor Scott Roberts officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery with full military graveside rites conducted by VFW Post 1925, American Legion Post 89, Disabled Veterans 47, Korean and Vietnam Veterans, all of Seymour.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Tuesday. A Masonic service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at Voss Chapel.

Memorial donations may be made to Peace Lutheran Church or the South Central Gun Club.
