Cougars top South Central

ELIZABETH

The Trinity Lutheran baseball team pounded out nine hits in a 10-6 win against South Central on Thursday.

Trailing 3-0, the Cougars scored four runs in the third to take the lead.

Trinity added another score in the fifth and five in the fifth to secure the win.

Chandler Reynolds had a home run with three RBI.

Nick Mensendiek, Ross Kruse and Jacob Schult each had two RBIs.

Mensendiek and Bobby Tabeling hit doubles in the contest.

Tabeling pitched three innings for the Cougars while Mensendiek, Kruse and Jake Moore pitched one each.

The Cougars (14-7) will host Pekin for a doubleheader today.

Lanesville downs Crothersville

CROTHERSVILLE

The Lanesville baseball team defeated Crothersville 22-4 in five innings on Thursday.

Crothersville score three runs in the first and held on to that lead until the Eagles exploded for 12 scores in the third.

Lanesville would then score three in the fourth and seven in the fifth inning to secure the win.

Codi McDonald was charged the loss on the mound.

Trevor Peters had two hits and Jessie Fink got an RBI for the Tigers (2-13).

The Tigers’ game against South Decatur was canceled due to rain Friday. They will play a doubleheader at Orleans today.
