NORTH VERNON

Elbert L. “Bert” Roane, 98, of North Vernon died at 10:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana in Columbus.

Survivors include sons, Ron (Sheila) Roane of North Vernon, Mike (Janet) Roane of Columbus and Steve (Deborah) Roane of Indianapolis; a daughter, Lisa (Dan) Keister of Logansport; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a sister, Ruby Dilk of Columbus; and a brother, Darrel Roane of North Vernon.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Evelyn Roane.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Burial will follow at Vernon Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service Saturday.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Our Hospice of South Central Indiana or First United Methodist Church of North Vernon.
