Donnie Dean Vance, 84, of Stone Mountain, Georgia, passed away Sunday, May 15, 2016.

Born Feb. 21, 1932, in Seymour, he was the son of Arthur and Estella Vance. He married Wanda Babb in February 1951, and the couple had three children together.

In 1966, he moved to Stone Mountain, Georgia, and accepted a position as a field service engineer at Cummins Engine Co., where he worked for more than 34 years. Donnie was a great family man and a loving father. He was a social, active man who was deeply involved in church and scouts for the majority of his life. He enjoyed hunting, woodworking and fishing. His family and friends will always remember him as a loving and caring person.

Donnie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Wanda Babb Vance, of Stone Mountain, Georgia; daughter and son-in-law, Debra and Dennis Coffman of Snellville, Georgia; sons and daughters-in-law, Michael and Ann Vance of Snellville, Georgia, and Dennis and Anita Vance of Loganville, Georgia; seven grandchildren, Jay and Laura Vance, Ginger Mercer, Katie Pryor and Alex Vance and Christopher and Nicholas Cooper; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Pete Vance and Ronnie Vance; sisters, Pam Lauster and Janet Rose; as well as several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; and brothers and sister, Robert Vance, Jack Vance and Rita Parker.

The funeral service to honor and celebrate the life of Donnie Dean Vance will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Tom M. Wages, Snellville Chapel with the Rev. Rodney Owens officiating. Burial will follow at Eternal Hills Memory Gardens, Snellville, Georgia.

Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
