Cougars top Southwestern

The Trinity Lutheran baseball team scored 13 runs on the same number of hits for a 13-6 victory against visiting Southwestern (Shelby) on Friday.

Down 4-3, the Cougars tacked-on three runs in the second inning to take the lead.

After giving up a score in the top of the third, Trinity responded with five runs to go up 11-5.

The Cougars added insurance runs in the fifth and sixth innings.

Sam Crick, Ross Kruse and Jacob Schult each had three RBIs for the Cougars.

On the mound, Nick Mensendiek earned the win on the mound.

The Cougars (13-5) will play at New Washington today.

Boys golf

Owls tie Panthers

The Seymour boys golf team lost to Jennings County in a makeup match Friday, with the Owls shooting 167 to the Panthers’ 166.

The Owls’ Tyler Bullard captured his first medalist of the season by carding a 38 (+2).

Keaton Simpson was next for the Owls with 38, Brady Marshall 41, Ben Everage 49 and Dusty Wetzel 49.
