Distinguished Young Women contest planned


An informational callout meeting for the Distinguished Young Women of Jackson County contest is set for 6 p.m. Wednesday in the Brownstown Central High School cafeteria.

This meeting is for girls in the Class of 2017.

Distinguished Young Women is a national scholarship program that inspires high school girls to develop their full, individual potential through a fun, transformative experience that culminates in a celebratory showcase of their accomplishments. The program strives to give every young woman the opportunity to further her education and prepare for a successful future.

Distinguished Young Women promotes and rewards scholarship, leadership and talent.

The contest is set for Aug. 6.
