Connie L. Napier, 71, of Austin, passed away at 7:45 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2016, at her home with her family by her side.

Born Jan. 9, 1945, in Crothersville, she was the daughter of Willis L. Keith and Mary Elizabeth Perry Keith, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 21, 1968, at Cana United Methodist Church, she married Jack Napier who survives in Austin.

Connie was a 1962 graduate of Crothersville High School and a 1966 graduate of the University of Evansville, obtaining her bachelor’s degree in education. She later received her Masters of Education degree at IU Southeast.

Connie retired from Crothersville Community Schools in 2008 where she was an elementary teacher and served in the education field for more than 37 years. Connie made a huge impact on many students lives and held high respect around her fellow teachers, students and parents. She was a favorite teacher and loved by many.

Connie was a lifelong member of Cana United Methodist Church, where she was very active participating in many roles in the church. Other memberships that she was active in include Phi Beta Psi sorority, Indiana State Teacher Association and Crothersville Classroom Teacher Association. In her spare time when she wasn’t working on a project, volunteering, or helping others, she enjoyed reading and working crossword puzzles. The loves of her life were here children and grandchildren.

Other survivors include a daughter, Leigh (Scott) Harvey of Huntington; a son, Aaron (Jamie) Napier of Seymour; seven grandchildren, Isaia Fuller and Ethan Napier, both of Austin, Peyton and Reagan Harvey of Huntington, Addyson, Kalli and Kelsie Napier of Seymour; two brothers, Willis L. ”Bucky” (Charlotte) Keith Jr. of Crothersville and Marty J. (Sharon) Keith of Brownstown; and a brother-in-law, David Runge of Tampico.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Tonna S. Runge.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory with Pastor Joe Wyatt officiating. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Saturday and from noon until time of service Sunday.

Memorials may be given to Cana Cemetery, Schneck Hospice or American Cancer Society.
