Girls track and field

Mid-Southern Conference delayed

PEKIN

The Mid-Southern Conference girls track and field meet at Pekin was cut short Wednesday.

Today, the teams will finish the 4×800 relay, 4×400 relay and shot put before the boys MSC meet at Corydon Central.

Silver Creek led the points totals followed by Corydon and Salem.

The Braves are in sixth place heading into the final events.

Hoosier Hills Conference changed

NEW ALBANY

The Hoosier Hills Conference girls track and field meet was shortened due to weather Wednesday.

On Friday, the meet will resume at New Albany at 6 p.m.

Softball

Senators top Tigers

CROTHERSVILLE

The Crothersville softball team fell to West Washington 11-2 on Wednesday.

Trailing 3-0, the Tigers’ Allison Davidson and Hannah Ortman scored a pair of runs of walks.

Crothersville would remain scoreless the rest of the way, with hits coming from Davidson and Carlee Persinger.

Persinger was charged the loss in the circle with four strikeouts and seven walks.

The Tigers dropped to 0-8 on the season.

Baseball

Tigers fall to Austin JV

AUSTIN

The Crothersville baseball team lost to Austin’s junior varsity team 15-1 on Wednesday in five innings.

Austin scored eight runs in the first inning.

In the fourth inning, Andrew Prince hit an RBI single to score Jonathon Wiseman.

The Tigers (1-10) host a doubleheader against Cannelton on Saturday.
