Howard F. Kroeger, 84, of Greenfield, passed away Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Hancock Regional Hospital.

Born July 12, 1931, in Seymour, he was the son of Louis H. and Irene E. Heideman Kroeger, both of whom preceded him in death. On June 27, 1952, in Seymour, he married Marilyn L. Pollert, who survives.

Howard graduated from Shields High School in 1949 and received his degree in business administration degree from Indiana University in 1957. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Howard was a manufacturer’s representative for more than 35 years, selling carpet and floor covering. He was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, where he sang in the choir and served on various boards. He was also a former member of Greenfield Rotary Club and Greenfield Country Club. He volunteered and delivered for Meals on Wheels for more than eight years.

Others survivors include children, Deborah A. Dishman of Greenfield, Thomas H. (Nancy) Kroeger of Franklin, Tennessee, and Susan L. (Joe) Yochum of Vincennes; nine grandchildren, Chad (Andrea) Dishman, Christopher Dishman, Lisa (Joe) Morrow, Matthew Kroeger, Katherine (Aaron) Holsteen, Elizabeth Kroeger, Amanda (Anthony) Sammartino, Curtis Personett and Jake Personett; and six great-grandchildren.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Harlan L. Kroeger and Kenneth W. Kroeger.

The funeral service will be at noon Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, Greenfield, with the Rev. Daniel O’Connor officiating. Inurnment will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Saturday at the church.
