Ruby V. Lee, 85, of Seymour passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Jennings Healthcare Center.

Born May 14, 1930, in London, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Hairom and Polly Pennington Vaughn, both of whom preceded her in death. On Oct. 10, 1946, in Scottsburg, she married James E. Lee, who preceded her in death Sept. 20, 1998.

Ruby was a member of Community Christian Church in Seymour and was a member of the Red Hat Society. She was a homemaker who loved taking care of her family and anyone in her life. She was like a mother to everyone and was always ready with a hug. She cleaned houses for many people over the years, including cleaning Voss & Sons Funeral Home for more than 30 years. She was a very caring and nurturing person.

Survivors include her sons, Edward Morris Lee and Doyle Michael (Judy) Lee; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; brothers, Dillard Whittymore and Bill Whittymore; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents,and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, James E. Lee; daughter, Teresa Lowe; and grandchildren, Brandon Lee and Vivian Machen.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel. Burial will be at noon Saturday at Bunker Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday.
