Mamie Ruth Yeager, 87, of Butlerville, passed away at 9:50 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2016, at Our Hospice of South Central Indiana Inpatient Facility.

Born April 5, 1929, in Cincinnati, she was the daughter of Omar and Ada Marie Ingram Hall. On July 13, 1946, she married George F. Yeager, who survives.

Ruth had worked at North Vernon Moose Lodge with her husband for 18 years. She was a member of North Vernon Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses for 50 years and was an avid Bible reader and teacher of her faith.

Beside her husband, survivors include a daughter, Deborah Rae Hoover of North Vernon; a son, George Yeager Jr. of North Vernon; a sister, Patricia Schellew of Cincinnati; six grandchildren, Curtis Upton, Jeff Yeager, Trudy Whited, Jamie Gibson, Stacey King and Tracey Gibson; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Pamela Upton and Trudy Yeager; seven brothers and sisters; and a grandson, Todd Upton.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service, with Elder Ron Haislup officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday.

Memorials may be made to World Wide Work of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Jennings County Community Foundation, Josiah Yeager Scholarship Fund or North Vernon Moose Lodge.
