Circulation manager Christina Hime gave a report about her department when the Jackson County Public Library board of trustees met April 21 at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

The Seymour Library offers self-service holds, a Lucky Day cart and a drive-thru window to patrons.

Trustees approved several changes to the circulation policy, including Chromebooks replacing netbooks that can be checked out in the library and no longer accepting lost items that have not been returned for six months. Customers can pay for all overdue fines and fees online through Evergreen with a 3 percent processing fee.

The board also approved a monthly after-hours program on the first Thursday of each month at the Medora Library. These programs start June 9 with pokeno.

New bushes and plants for the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries will be paid for with $1,099 in library endowment funds from the Community Foundation of Jackson County.

All three libraries are Jackson County United Way Day of Caring sites May 10.

The next board meeting is at 5 p.m. May 16 at the Seymour Library.
