Braves 9th, Owls 10th at Bedford invite

BEDFORDIn an 18-team field, the Brownstown Central and Seymour boys golf teams finished ninth and 10th on Saturday with scores of 356 and 360 at the Bedford North Lawrence Invitational at Otis Park.

BNL won their first invitational championship since 2012 by carding a combined 316 in rainy conditions.

Evansville North was second at 321 and Madison, led by Austin Mahoney’s medalist score of 74, placed third totaling 327.

Seymour sophomore Keaton Simpson had the fifth best score on the day with a 78.

Other Owls’ scoring were Brady Marshall, who carded a 80, Tyler Bullard, 97, Jake Silence, 105, and Ben Everage, 112.

Sophomore Hunter Browning led the Braves with an 81.

The Braves’ Seth Berry scored 88, Jackson Wagner, 91, Brayton Hattabaugh, 96, and Lute Lahrman, 104.

All other area high school events Saturday were canceled due to rain.
