Burton V. Kleber, 93, of Scipio, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center in Seymour.

Born Jan. 3, 1923, in Scipio, he was the son of George and Ruth Eveleth Kleber, both of whom preceded him in death. On Sept. 11, 1948, at Reddington Christian Church, he married Ramona G. Helt who survives.

Burton was a member of Reddington Christian Church. He graduated with the Scipio High School class of 1941. After graduating, he was a farmer and worked at Cummins Engine Co. where he retired after 35 years. He was a member and officer of Camper and Hikers Camping Group and the CREEK Club. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling in his RV.

Other survivors besides his wife of 65 years include daughter, Rebecca (Melvin) Vogel; grandchildren, Vincent (Amanda) Vogel, Donna (Matthew) Vojkufka, Kenneth Kleber and Sara Kleber-Lowery; and great-grandchildren, Colton, Hattie, Carol, Joseph, Gabriel and Kohen.

He was preceded in death by his son, George Kleber; granddaughter, Martha Vogel; sister, Thelma Simmons; and an infant sister.

The funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Voss Chapel. Burial will follow at Reddington Cemetery.

Friends and family may gather from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until time of service Saturday.

Memorials may be made to Reddington Cemetery, Hayden Museum or donor’s choice of charity.
