A 21-year-old Bartholomew County woman was flown to an Indianapolis hospital Saturday evening after her vehicle left the road and rolled three times on the north side of Seymour.

When Seymour officers arrived at the scene on Ewing Street and Redwood Drive, they reported finding Elizabeth Foist of Columbus unconscious inside her vehicle, according to a news release from Seymour Police Department.

Foist was treated at the scene by medical personal with Jackson County Emergency Medical Services and taken to Schneck Medical Center in Seymour before being flown to IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. A condition report was not available on Sunday morning.

Witnesses told police Foist had been driving north on Ewing Street when the vehicle left the road and began to roll end over end. Police said they believe the vehicle rolled three times before coming to a stop.

The cause of the wreck, reported at 5:35 p.m., remains under investigation, police said.

Officers responding to the scene include Chris McCoy, Bart Bevers and Chip Petro along with Sgt. Jack Swindell and Cpl. Jason Alberring. Seymour firefighters also assisted with treating Foist and removing her from the vehicle.
