Immanuel Lutheran Church welcomes the community to join in special services this week.
At 4:30 and 7 p.m. Thursday, services will commemorate the day Jesus celebrated the Passover with his disciples, washed their feet in loving service and instituted Holy Communion.
At 12:15 p.m. Good Friday, a service will offer 30 minutes of reflection during the time of day when Jesus was on the cross for us.
At 4:30 p.m. that day, there will be a service designed for young children and their families. The 7:30 p.m. Tenebrae service will be marked by the extinguishing of lights.
On Easter Sunday, a sunrise service will be added at 6:30 a.m. to the regular service times at 9 and 11:15 a.m. Brass and choirs will provide for a joyful celebration of the resurrection.
An Easter breakfast will be served by the youth from 7 to 8:30 a.m. Sunday, and an Easter egg hunt for children will follow the 9 a.m. service.
Easter also will be celebrated during a service at 7 p.m. Monday.
Services at 7 p.m. Thursday, 7:30 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Sunday will be broadcast live on WZZB AM 1390.
