Destiny Skye Howard, 23, of Seymour passed away Thursday, March 17, 2016, in Seymour.

Born Oct. 29, 1992, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Alex and Heather Gee Bowling, both of whom survive.

A 2011 graduate of Seymour High School, Destiny was active in pep rallies and Renaissance Club, and she took pictures for the yearbook and enjoyed writing a column in the school newspaper. Destiny enjoyed photography, quilting, painting, singing and watching “Friends.”

She enjoyed walking and exploring, and she collected giraffes and had started mixing essential oils together to create her own scents. Destiny was about to launch her own blog “That Sassy Mom. Com”, which her family says was a spot-on description of her. She was a strong believer in her faith and has always had a relationship with God. Her pride and joy for the last two years has been her daughter, Tatum Ann Michelle.

Besides her parents and daughter, she leaves behind Tatum’s father and her fiancé, Justin Smith of Seymour; siblings, Dakota (Matt) Lerza of Lexington, Kentucky, and their children, Carsyn and Avett, Sheanna Bowling and her son, Jace, Zachary Bowling, Olivia Brewer and Conner Howard; grandparents, Carol Gee of Seymour, Jeff and Donna Gee of Indianapolis, Linda and Jim Ayers of Seymour, Ken and Mary Bowling of Columbus and Larry and Pat Howard of Seymour; great-grandmother, Ruth Bowling of Hayden; aunts and uncles, Amber and Brent Turner, Allen Bowling, Brent and Jenny Terry, Aimee and Jamie Caudill, Sara Beckley, Rhonda Sharp and Nicole and Jeff Lewis; many cousins, including Jocie, Lexi, Amanda, Sammi, Zach, Casey, Hannah, Kylen, Reagan, Jada, Payton, Taylor, Kylie, Maddie and Jacob; and her extended family, Billy and Beth Smith and children, Laykyn, McKinlie, Cody and Taylor. She also will be missed by her dog Pax.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmothers, Clara Boyd, Josephine Hatfield and Evelyn Gee; a great-great uncle, Lawrence Holle; and a great-aunt, Diana Phillips.

The funeral service will be at 7 p.m. today at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre. Burial will follow at a future date.

Visitation will from 2 to 7 p.m. today.

Memorials can be made to the trust fund of her daughter, Tatum.
