Cheryl Brown Garriot Meadows, 72, of Norman, passed away peacefully at 10:59 a.m. Wednesday, March 16, 2016, at her home, surrounded by her family.

Born Oct. 10, 1943, in Columbus, she was the daughter of Bernie and Anna Fields Brown, both of whom preceded her in death. In June of 1986, she married Brad Meadows, who preceded her in death Sept. 28, 2007.

Cheryl was a retired school teacher with North Lawrence Community Schools. She was a member of Brownstown Nazarene Church, Gold Wing Road Riders Association, ABATE (American Bikers Aimed Toward Education) and the Blue Knights.

Survivors include a daughter, Angie Garriot Crawford; a brother, Johnny Mac (Trudy) Brown; two sisters, Nancy (Larry) Mosier and Jane Anne (Mark) Meadows; two grandchildren, Melinda (Jeff) Johnson and Andrew (Leslie) Crawford; and three great-grandchildren, Kaydence, Olivia and Griffin.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a sister, Bobbi Bergdoll.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home, Brownstown, with Pastor Tim Lichtley officiating. Burial will be at Guthrie Creek Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from noon until time of service Monday.
