3 teams take sectional titles

New Albany, Silver Creek and West Washington won sectional tournaments Saturday night.

New Albany defeated Jeffersonville 68-51 in the finals of the Class 4A Seymour Sectional.

Romeo Langford topped the Bulldogs (23-1) with 22 points, while Demr’re Sims led the Red Devils (13-12) with 17.

New Albany will face Bloomington South (21-4), and Franklin Central (18-6) will play Evansville Reitz (21-4) in the Seymour Regional on Saturday.

Silver Creek defeated Salem 68-48 in the Charlestown Class 3A Sectional.

The Dragons (21-4) will play Greensburg (16-7) in the Washington Regional on Saturday. Salem finished 18-6.

West Washington topped Borden (15-9), 55-48, in the Class A West Washington Sectional.

The Senators (18-8) will face North Daviess (14-11) in the Loogootee Regional.
