Christene Trisler Nolte, 104, a resident of Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour, formerly of Jennings County, passed away at 3:10 a.m. Wednesday, March 3, 2016, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born Nov. 2, 1911, in Seymour, she was the daughter of Roscoe and Bertha Davis Trisler, both of whom preceded her in death. On March 12, 1938, in Seymour, she married Ronald “Dutch” Nolte who preceded her in death in April 1988.

Christene was a 1931 graduate of Paris Crossing High School and a 1957 graduate of Huffer Beauty College in Columbus. She worked at Excello Shirt Factory and had a beauty shop in her home working as a beautician, retiring in 1973. She and her husband also owned a farm. She was a member of Cana United Methodist Church and served as the Cana Cemetery treasurer for more than 50 years. She was a member of the American Hairdresser Association.

Survivors include a daughter, Nedra A. Short of Seymour; two grandchildren, Barry (Teresa) Short of Paris Crossing and Stacey (Tom) Patman of Vallonia; five great-grandchildren, Morgan Patman and Dylan Patman, both of Vallonia, Triston Short and Trea Short, both of Paris Crossing, and Lindsey (Gregg) Goshorn of Brownstown; two great-great-grandchildren; three nieces, Jo Ann Moore of Greensburg, Cleo Donahue of Crothersville and Cheryl Trisler of Crothersville; and a nephew, Mark Trisler of Crothersville.

She was preceded in death by a brother, Byron “Bill” Trisler, and a son-in-law, William C. “Bill” Short.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Adams Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville with Pastor Damon Marling and the Rev. Joe Wyatt officiating. Burial will be at Cana Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until time of service.
