Hornets drop pair of road games

The Medora boys basketball team struggled to pick up a win in back-to-back games Friday and Saturday.

On Saturday, the Hornets didn’t score a point in the fourth quarter in a 48-25 loss at Southwestern (Hanover).

At the half, the Hornets trailed 14-19.

The Hornets would score just six points in the third quarter while being outscored 24-6 in the final 16 minutes of play.

Kam Flynn and Chase Booker each tallied eight points for the Hornets.

MHS fell to Rock Creek Academy 89-46 in a road game Friday.

The host Lions took a 29-12 lead in the opening eight minutes and held a 42-22 advantage at the half.

The Hornets gave up 32 points in the third quarter, putting the game too far out of reach.

Flynn led the Hornets with 14 points on four made 3-pointers, and senior Jalen Beesley finished with 12.

James Dunlap topped the Lions’ scoring with 19.

Saturday, the Hornets (4-15) will host Washington Catholic.

Tigers fall to West Washington

CAMPBELLSBURG

The Crothersville boys basketball team couldn’t generate enough offense in a 71-42 loss at West Washington on Friday.

The Senators opened the game with a 13-8 advantage before scoring 21 points in the second quarter to take a 34-19 lead into intermission.

In the third quarter, the Senators stayed hot scoring 25 points while limiting the Tigers to 11.

Eli Mollet led the Tigers with 15 points and Tyler Luedeman tallied 14.

Hunter Sanford topped the Senators’ scoring with 23 points.

On the boards, the Tigers were out-rebounded 32-14.

Friday, the Tigers (3-16) will host Lanesville.
