Friends of Library planning book sale

Friends of the Library’s first used book sale this year will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday in the meeting room at the Seymour Library, 303 W. Second St.

A sale will be then conducted every other month.

A special Friends-only preview of the sale is from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Friday and from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the sale Saturday.

This sale will offer tables of new items, several pieces of surplus library office equipment and a silent auction on a copy of Elizabeth Rebber’s “Seymour: A Pictorial History.”

2015 prices still are in effect. They include adult hardback and softbound books for $1 apiece; children, young adult books and paperbacks for 50 cents; and DVDs for $2.

During the final hour of the sale Saturday, the everything-a-bag-can-hold-for-$3 will be in effect.

Donations of gently used books, movies and music CDs are welcome to help stock upcoming sales and ongoing sales at the Seymour, Crothersville and Medora libraries. Donations may be left at any checkout desk during library hours.

Anyone interested in becoming a Friend (or renewing their membership) will find forms at the sale, at the checkout desk or online. Annual dues are $5 for individuals, $10 for family, $25 for donor and $50 for benefactor.

The next sale is scheduled for April 2.
