Schneck Medical Center’s director of Respiratory and Sleep Services recently was re-elected to the Indiana Society for Respiratory Care Chapter 7 board of directors.

Susan Wynn, MSM, RRT, has served on the board since 1991 in some capacity. In 2007 and 2010, Chapter 7 was awarded Chapter of the Year while she served as director.

In 2010, Wynn received the Excellence in Service to the Indiana Society for Respiratory award.

Wynn became a respiratory therapist in 1983 and has been a member of the American Society for Respiratory Care since 1983.

The mission of the Indiana Society for Respiratory Care is to provide proactive leadership in the delivery of respiratory care and promote professionalism among respiratory care practitioners.

The Chapter 7 director represents 15 counties, including the surrounding counties of Bartholomew, Jennings, Clark, Monroe, Floyd, Washington and Lawrence.

Wynn also has worked at Riley Hospital for Children IU Health and St. Vincent Jennings Hospital and was a clinical instructor for Independence University. She has been with Schneck Medical Center since 1981.

In 2015, the Schneck Respiratory and Sleep Services department was recognized in the national professional publication, “AARC Times,” for its work to prevent re-admissions to the hospital for chronic pulmonary disease patients under Wynn’s leadership.
