NORTH VERNON

Marjorie Ann Ford, 91, of North Vernon, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2016, at Aspen Place Health Campus in Greensburg.

Born June 15, 1924, in North Vernon, she was the daughter of Jack and Florence Pierce Bower, both of whom preceded her in death. She married Emmett Ford, and he preceded her in death.

Marjorie graduated from New Washington High School in 1942. She retired in 1991 from Thompson Dairy, where she worked in the office. She was a member of First Christian Church and Eastern Star. She enjoyed crocheting, movies and reading.

Survivors include a sister, Phyllis Craig of North Vernon; grandson, Jody (Melinda) Ford of Tampa, Florida; and two great-grandsons, Thomas and Samuel Ford.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, William Edward Ford; sister, Kathleen Gee; and brother, Alva Bower.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Sawyer–Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service in North Vernon, with the Rev. Ron Bridgewater officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until time of service Wednesday. Burial will be in Vernon Cemetery.
