Lawrence Dale Finley, 90, of Crothersville, and a resident of Hampton Oaks Health Campus of Scottsburg, passed away at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2016.
Born April 19, 1925, in Bedford, he was the son of Charlie and Elba Wiggs Finley, both of whom preceded him in death. On March 7, 1947, he married Margie Sage Finley, who preceded him in death Feb. 16, 2012.
He was a 1943 graduate of Crothersville High School and a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp. He was honorably discharged Oct. 27, 1945. He enjoyed traveling, camping and was formerly active in the Holiday Rambler R.V. Club. He retired from American Can Co. in 1984.
Survivors include a son, Larry (Cathy) Finley of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Libby Sage of Crothersville; and nieces and nephews, Jerry (Brenda) Cremeens of Norman, Sharon Smith of Crothersville, Shirley Fields of Lexington, G. Scott Sage of Crothersville, Mindy (Adam) Kriete of Crothersville and Diann (Michael) Clark of Mooresville.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Marjorie M. Finley Sage, on Oct. 21, 2011.
The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Adams Family Funeral Home & Crematory in Crothersville, with burial to follow at Cana Cemetery.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
Memorials may be given to Cana Cemetery.
