Trinity downs Shawe

MADISON — The Trinity Lutheran boys rallied to outscored Shawe Memorial 34-7 in the third period, then added 30 points in the fourth quarter for an 83-64 win Friday night on the Hilltoppers’ floor.

Shawe jumped on top 12-4 at the end of the first quarter and held a 32-19 lead at the half before Dylan Maschino scored 10, Chad Stuckwisch 9 and Daniel Horton 8 in the third period to spark the Cougars to a 53-39 lead going into the fourth quarter.

Horton topped all scorers with 29 points, including 15-for-16 free throws. Stuckwisch and Maschino added 14 points each and Keegan Rebber scored 13.

The Cougars made 30 of 36 free throws for the night.

Horton also topped the Cougars in rebounds with 13.

Brad Koehler topped the Hilltoppers with 17 points.

The Cougars (8-5) have won four straight and will play at Brownstown Central tonight.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

Hornets fall to Lions

MEDORA — Medora’s girls basketball team dropped a game 50-17 Friday evening to Bloomington Lighthouse on Friday.

The Hornets struggled early and were never able to catch up as they only managed eight points in the first half.

Senior Carley McCammon scored all but two of the Hornets’ points.

Sophomore Lillian Hatfield scored a bucket in the fourth quarter to add the other two points for the Hornets.

The Hornets (2-15) will play at Orleans tonight.
