Marilyn Ann Phillips, 73, of Seymour, passed away Monday, Jan. 11, 2016, at her son’s home in Columbus.

Born March 1, 1942, in Bloomfield, she was the daughter of Russell and Alma Scott Blaker, both of whom preceded her in death.

Marilyn was a 1955 graduate of Freetown High School and worked for Silgan Plastics Corp. for more than 25 years, retiring in 1998. After her retirement, she received an associate degree in accounting in 2000 from Ivy Tech Community College. She was a member of Gorbett’s Chapel Church in Freetown.

Survivors include her son, Dennis (Lori) Cornelius; two grandchildren, Amber (Mike) Knight and Hunter Cornelius; two brothers, Ronnie (Joann) Blaker and Richard (Sarah) Blaker; and two sisters, Betty Owensby and Brenda (Eugene) Davis.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Kathy Maxum.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Burkholder Funeral Chapel, Seymour, with the Rev. Gene Davis officiating. Burial will be at Gorbett’s Chapel Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday.
