Basket fund donations grow to near $12,000
The annual Christmas Basket Fund grew to $11,944 on Tuesday with 13 donations totaling $750.
The new donations are:
» In lieu of Christmas cards, $50, from Steve and Sandy Prather.
» In memory of Christine, $20, from Herb Woodard.
» In memory of Gary Noblitt, $40, from Dan’s Cycle Sales.
» Anonymous, $50.
» In memory of loved ones, $50, from Curt and Mary Ellen Wischmeier
» Anonymous, $40.
» Merry Christmas, $200, from The Knights of Columbus.
» In loving memory of our parents, $25, Anonymous.
» In memory of Harold and Louise Bush, $50, from Mary, Bonnie, Wilma, William and David.
» In memory of our dad, Bud Anderson, and sister, Brenda Howell Allman. Always in our thoughts, forever in our hearts, $20, from Charlene, Jackie, Randy, Timmy and Buddy.
» In memory of our sister, Jo Ella Rochner Nierman, $50, with love from Shirley Rochner Brewer, Chuck Rochner and Harry Rochner. We Miss You Sis!

The 2014 Christmas Basket Fund raised $11,345, which was enough money to provide 300 gift cards to needy people in the county. In 2011, a record $20,130 was donated.
Now in its 70th year, the project is sponsored by American Legion Post 89 in Seymour in partnership with Jay C Food Stores, Jackson County Bank and The Tribune.
Donations may be mailed to or dropped off at American Legion Post 89, The Tribune or any branch of Jackson County Bank.
