Tigers lose in overtime
CAMPBELLSBURG — After Crothersville sank a pair of free throws to go up 56-54 two with nine ticks on the clock, West Washington’s Chelsea Carter tied the game with 0.4 seconds left in the post to send the game into overtime Thursday.
The Senators would out-score Crothersville 14-10 in extra time to earn a 70-66 victory.
The game went back and forth, but the Senators took a 29-24 lead into the half.
The Tigers out-scored the home team 17-12 in the third quarter, but only managed 10 points in the fourth before overtime.
Katrina Christian led Crothersville with 24 points, Abby Jewell added 18 and Lacey Hall netted eight.
Ryana Watson topped the Senators (5-5) with 26 points while Carter finished with 16.
The Tigers went 16-for-23 from the free-throw line while West Washington sank 11 of 13.
Crothersville (7-4) will host Shawe Memorial on Monday.
