Marvin Lee York, 71, of Seymour passed away Friday, Oct. 23, 2015, at Covered Bridge Health Campus.

Born Jan. 9, 1944, in southern Indiana, he was the son of Marion James and Gertrude Pierce York, both of whom preceded him in death. On Dec. 24, 1965, in Seymour, he married Audrey K. Ross York. She preceded him in death on March 23, 2005.

Marvin graduated from Jennings County High School and worked as a wood lathe operator. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles 665, loved to play the guitar, go to the race track to support the family race teams, fishing and knitting. Marvin was an avid Colts fan and he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.

Survivors include his children, Chris (Kevin) Borgman, Stacy (Brea) York and Wesley (Sarah) York; seven grandchildren, Chancelyn York, Alexia York, Keggin York, Cole, Morgan and Jordan Brewer and Lydia Borgman, brothers; Tom (Sue) York, Greg York and Jim York and sister, Ruth (Danny) Jameson; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a brother, George York; and sisters, Brenda, Stella, Shirley, Maryellen and Emmalouise.

A memorial service will be at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Voss Chapel with the Rev. Scott Brown officiating. Private burial will take place at a later time.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. until time of service Wednesday.

Memorials may be made to Covered Bridge Activity Fund or Reddington Christian Church.
