Salem edges Braves

BROWNSTOWN

The Brownstown Central boys tennis team fell to Salem 3-2 on Friday.

At No.1 singles, the Braves’ Lute Lahrman defeated Keenan Bowles 6-4, 7-6 (4).

The other Braves’ win came at No. 2 doubles, as Sy Zickler and Ethan Carlin bested Evan Shelby and Cody Blackwell 7-5, 6-2.

Riley Carlin and Sam Hoff battled hard, but fell to the Lions’ Jaelen Nice and Derek Sinex 4-6, 7-6, 6-0.

The Braves (18-6) will play in the Seymour Sectional next week after the pairings are announced Monday.
