Enjoy outdoor activities at Fall Forest Fun Day

White River Resource Conservation and Development Inc. and Bedford Parks Department will conduct the annual Fall Forest Fun Day from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 3 at Murray Forest Park.

The free event at the park on Fifth Street in Bedford will include activities for kids of all ages and adults.

Activities include outdoor games, demonstrations about raptors, wood crafts and a portable sawmill and classes about how to use a compass and map, according to event coordinator Bob Moss.

There also will be a scavenger hunt for kids and nature crafts, and the crosscut saw is a challenge for kids and adults to see if they can saw a tree cookie the way their great-grandfather probably cut logs.

Lunch will be available at the concession stand at the park.
