Betty Louise Neal, 85, of Seymour, passed away at 9:16 a.m, Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at her residence.

Born Oct. 3, 1929, in Whiting, she was the daughter of Orvil and Lena L. Engleau Greathouse, both of whom preceded her in death. On Oct. 19, 1948, she married John Neal and he passed away in November of 2005.

She was a housewife who enjoyed singing and playing the guitar. She also loved to read and loved caring for her dog, Boomer.

Survivors include her children,  Larry (Anna) Neal, Sandra Nowland, Tim (Carol) Neal and Deanna (Ernie) Black; 16 grandchildren; and 40 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Darlene Neal; a brother, Lawrence Greathouse; a sister, Dorothy Manual; and a great-granddaughter, Colleen Niemeyer.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Winklepleck-Weesner Funeral Home in Brownstown. Burial will follow at Houston Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday and from 10 a.m. until time of service.
