Terry L. “Elrod” Whitsitt, 57, of Deputy, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2015, at his residence.

Born in Scottsburg, he was the son of Leo and Idell Jones Whitsitt, both of whom preceded him in death.

Terry graduated from Scottsburg High School. He was a retired maintenance supervisor for the Department of Natural Resources at Hardy Lake in Scottsburg, where he worked for 36 years.

Survivors include his daughter, Amanda (Scott) Hoffman of Heltonville; three brothers, Gary A. Whitsitt, Larry R. Whitsitt and Kevin E. Whitsitt, all of Deputy; three grandchildren, Brock, Luke and Audrey; and six nieces and nephews, Farrah, Justin, Coralee, Grizzlee, C.R. and Matthew.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Collins Funeral Home in Scottsburg.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until time of service Sunday at the funeral home.

Cremation was requested following the services with burial in Wesley Chapel Cemetery at a later date.
