NORTH VERNON

Dolores M. Reitman, 85, of North Vernon passed away at 12:45 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2015, at Jennings Health Care Center.

Born April 24, 1930, Dolores was the daughter of Edward and Mary Glatt Ley, both of whom preceded her in death. On Feb. 26, 1949, she married Robert Reitman who preceded her in death May 18, 1994.

She was a homemaker and a lifelong member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church. She also was a member of Daughters of Isabella, Red Hat Society, Jennings County Extension Club, Seton Club and a foster grandparent. She loved gardening, sewing, her chickens and having family gatherings.

Survivors include her sons, Ronald (Margi) Reitman of Westport, Anthony (Peggy) Reitman of Mitchell, Douglas (Ginger) Reitman of North Vernon, Thomas (Wendy) Reitman of North Vernon and Jeffrey (Rita) Reitman of Fordsville, Kentucky; daughters, Barbara (Mark) Vander Hart of Lowell, Michigan, Monica (Mike) Anderson of North Vernon, Denise (Tim) Woodard of Seymour and Annette (David) Trejo of North Vernon; a brother, Robert Ley of Columbus; 24 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by brothers, Mike, Edward and Joseph Ley; and sisters, Helen Hill, Elizabeth Ley, Marie and Frances Mader, and Agnes Rancourt.

A mass of Christian burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Anne’s Catholic Church with the Rev. Jerry Byrd officiating. Interment will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery.

A rosary service will be at 1:30 p.m. at Sawyer–Pickett Funeral & Cremation Service, with visitation to follow from 2 until 6 p.m.

Memorials may be made to St. Anne’s Cemetery Endowment or the American Diabetes Association.
