The Seymour Police Department recently participated in Operation Pullover Blitz No. 83, targeting drunk driving offenses. This enforcement period ended after Labor Day.

The department utilized four officers working 26 hours of overtime funded by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute.

The officers conducted 52 traffic stops that resulted in 23 citations and 34 warning citations. Officers also made seven criminal arrests, including three for operating while intoxicated and one for possession of marijuana.

Beginning Monday, the department will participate in another Operation Pullover blitz. That also will be funded by the Indiana Criminal Justice Institute and will pay officers to work overtime and focus on seat belt enforcement.
