Jerry L. Gallion, 61, of Seymour, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 9, 2015, at home surrounded by his loving family.

Born Aug. 28, 1954, in Seymour, he was the son of Harry R. “Bob” Gallion, who preceded him in death, and Delores May Marsh Gallion, who survives.

On June 7, 1980, at St. Andrew’s United Methodist Church in Seymour, he married Mary Jo Toppe, who survives.

Jerry was a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Church. He was a 1974 graduate of Seymour High School. He was self-employed as an industrial fabricator. He loved fishing, Indianapolis Colts football, skeet shooting, roller skating at Rok-Sey Roller Rink back in the day, his family and his beagle pups, Theodore and Daisy.

Besides his wife and mother, survivors include his son, William L. Gallion; four grandchildren, Julia, Connor, Sophia and Carson; two brothers, Harry R. (Joyce) Gallion Jr. and Gary (Kirsten) Gallion; three sisters, Janice (Leonard) Kreinop, Donna Reece and Candy (Mark) Sentz; and several nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.

Besides his father, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Robert E. Toppe; and mother-in-law, Patricia A. “Pat” Toppe.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Monday at St. Ambrose Catholic Church with Father Dan Staublin officiating and Deacon Mike East assisting.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and from 10:30 a.m. until time of service Monday at the church. A rosary service will be at at 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Voss Chapel in Seymour.

A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Riverview Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Hospice of Schneck Medical Center or Don and Dana Myers Cancer Center.
