Martha Ellen Scott, 82, of Peru, formerly of Bedford, passed away Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at Aperion Estates Peru, an assisted living center.

Born April 9, 1933, in Bedford, she was a daughter of Willie Carl and Ida Belle Speer Sherrill, both of whom preceded her in death. On Jan. 3, 1952, she married Thurston E. Scott, who passed away Sept. 5, 2010.

Martha was a member of Dive Christian Church in Bedford and a housewife.

Survivors include three daughters, Cheryl (Richard) Cox, Paula (Stuart) Rose and Nancy Shirley; a sister, Betty Lockman; 11 grandchildren, Bethany, Joseph, Scott, Jodie, Holly, Katy, Cara, Courtney, Bryce, Janna and Becca; and 26 great-grandchildren.

Besides her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Juanita Harrison and Dorothy Dietz; and a brother, Russell Sherrill.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Dive Christian Church, 892 Peerless Road, Bedford.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Friday at the church.

Memorials may be made to Charcot-Marie Tooth Association.
