In remembrance of 9/11, a group of veterans and citizens of Jackson County is inviting the community to participate in a special ceremony honoring emergency responders.

The event will be at 6:30 p.m. Friday at Gaiser Park in Seymour.

All veterans, firefighters, police officers, paramedics and emergency medical technicians will be honored.

The service also will honor and pay tribute to those who died in the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks.

“Taps” will play at dusk.
