Barbara E. Limle, 72, of Otto, North Carolina, passed away Thursday evening, Aug. 27, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center, Seymour.

Born Oct. 25, 1942, in Muncie, she was the eldest daughter of James Clifford Wilson and Vivian R. Wilson, both of whom preceded her in death. On July 10, 1965, in Muncie, Barbara married her soulmate, Kenneth L. Limle. They had been married 50 years when he preceded her in death on July 8, 2015.

She attended Ball State University, Muncie, where she studied art. Barbara was the owner and operator of Barb’s Cake Fantasies, which she opened in 1981 in Muncie. She won numerous awards for her cake decorating skills at the local and state fairs.

In 1997, Barbara and Kenneth retired to North Carolina, originally settling in Bryson City and later relocating to Otto.

Barbara loved quilting and sewing. She was a member of the Smoky Mountain Quilt Guild and the Fumble Bee’s Quilt Bee. She received several ribbons for her quilts at the Smoky Mountain Quilt Shows. Some of the quilts she made were donated to service members and veterans through Quilts of Valor Foundation.

Survivors include her daughter, Deby (Steve) Dahlquist; grandchildren, Brad, Jeff and Mandy Dahlquist; great-grandchildren, Jacob and MaKinlee Dahlquist; her sister, Sandra (Dave) Larson; and many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of life service for Barbara and Kenneth will be at 7 p.m. at Meeks Mortuary in Muncie. Their son-in-law, Steve Dahlquist, will officiate.

A celebration of life service for Barbara also will be conducted in Franklin, North Carolina, at a date to be determined.

Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society of Franklin, North Carolina.
