Southern Indiana Flying Eagles recently conducted a radio-controlled airplane contest at Freeman Field in Seymour.
The contest featured replicas of full-size aircraft. The planes from 60-inch to 170-inch wingspan, and they were powered by electric motors or fuel-powered engines. There also were jet aircraft entered in the event.
The contest helped some of the competitors win the right to enter the Masters Championships in October in Houston.
The club’s flying field is in the 1200 block of North A Avenue off the Airport Road entrance to Freeman Field.
