Artist teaching watercolor class at center

A local artist will offer a group watercolor class from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Aug. 16 at Southern Indiana Center for the Arts, 2001 N. Ewing St., Seymour.

“This class gives people the opportunity to get some basic watercolor instruction,” instructor Kay Fox said. “It is designed for beginning and intermediate levels.”

Students will be painting a fox on an 8-by-10-inch piece of watercolor paper. Participants will focus on shape, shading, fur and eyes. Techniques used will be wet-on-wet and dry brush.

Class size is limited, and preregistration and prepayment are required. The cost is $35, which includes all supplies and instructions. Members of the center receive a 20 percent discount.
