A Seymour liquor store along with 20 others from across the nation have been recognized by American Beverage Licensees for their success and dedication to the beverage alcohol industry.

Northside Liquors received the Brown-Forman Retailer of the Year award during the American Beverage Licensees annual conference in June.

Nancy and Charley Brock purchased Northside Liquors in 1983. The store, established in the late 1950s, still stands in its original location at 821 N. Ewing St.

Since purchasing the store, the Brocks have been personally involved in growing and customizing their business over the past 30 years to include departments such as fine wine, craft beer and spirits, including high-end bourbon, according to a news release.

Northside Liquors also takes advantage of its success as a small business by supporting local foundations and charities to promote responsible retailing and giving back to the community that supports them.

The 2015 Brown-Forman Retailer of the Year awards recognize independent beverage business owners who engage in responsible sales and service of beverage alcohol and who are committed to their state associations.
