Betty R. Malone, 82, of Seymour, passed away at 4:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at Kindred Transitional Care in Columbus.

Born Aug. 29, 1932, in Honeytown, Jackson County, she was the daughter of Joseph and Pearl (Bus) Allman, both of whom preceded her in death. In 1950, in North Vernon, she married Harold Eugene “Gene” Malone. He preceded her in death Sept. 27, 1998.

Betty stayed very active in life and had worked at H.O. Canfields and then at Cummins Engine Co. where she retired. After retirement, she worked at Holmes Industry for a few years.

Survivors include her children, Kathy (Danny Joe) Jaynes and Billy E. (Debbie) Malone.

Besides her parents and husband, Betty was preceded in death by brothers, Num Allman, Joe Allman and Herbert Allman; sisters, Nancy Allman, Mary Lucas, Lucille Clampitt and Gladys Jones; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Voss Chapel with the Revs. Andrew Currao and Joseph Barlau officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until time of service today at the funeral home.
