C. Thomas Biggs Jr., 49, of Scipio, passed away at 9:11 p.m. Monday, July 27, 2015, at his residence.

Born Feb. 24, 1966, in Rensselaer, he was the son of Charles Thomas Biggs Sr., who preceded him in death, and Carol Ceglarek Biggs, who survives in Hope. On Jan. 16, 1992, he married Rhonda Sue Perry, who survives in Scipio.

He graduated from Hauser High School in Hope in 1984 and from Hanover College in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

He worked at Rose Acre Farms for 18 years and rose to chief financial officer. He also was a former vice president of Farm Credit Services of Mid-America and later worked as a loan officer at Jackson County Bank. He had been a foster parent for 17 years.

He was a member of Shadowood Golf Course, Moose Lodge and Phi Delta Theta fraternity. He enjoyed playing golf and softball, NASCAR, hunting, fishing, high school sports, watching his daughters participate in sports activities and spending time with his family.

Other survivors include daughters, Heather Renee (Dale) Czahor of Francesville, Jerri Rochelle (Jason) Bliton of North Vernon, and Cynthia Danielle Biggs, Kirsten Gabrielle Biggs and Chessler Tara Biggs, all of Scipio; sisters, Carol Lynn Hassell of Winchester, Virginia, Catherine Mary Silvers of Burke, Virginia, and Christina Lorraine Biggs of Columbus; and grandchildren, Brett Anthony Czahor, Patrick Robert Czahor, Connor Thomas Czahor, Amelia Paige Bliton, Cayden James Bliton, Jocelynn Renee Bliton, Ellenor Grace Bliton and Emmett Michael Bliton.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Sawyer-Pickett Funeral and Cremation Service in North Vernon. Interment will be at Scipio Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from noon until time of service Saturday at the funeral home.
