All Seasons Garden Club met July 6 at the home of Rita Wischmeier with 14 members and two guests attending.

Sandwiches, salads and a variety of pies were served by Wischmeier and co-hostess Nita Bridges. Darlene Sommers was a guest of Ann Burgess. Karen Lanam, a guest of Wischmeier, was welcomed as a new member.

The club toured Wischmeier’s daylilies. They were at their peak, and club members tagged several that will be dug up in the fall and purchased to add beauty, color and variety to their personal gardens.

Club president Becky Hackman conducted a short business meeting. Sign-up sheets were circulated for members to work in the gardens at Lutheran Community Home in July and August.

Hackman spoke about a garden walk that took place July 10 in Lawrence County. Proceeds from the walk will benefit cancer patient services.

Lanam shared a variety of snowmen she makes from vintage goods and accessories. Creating the snowmen has become a hobby for her when she is not working in her many gardens. Lanam said she is looking forward to attending several of the Christmas bazaars.

Favors for the evening were garden gloves.

The next meeting will be Aug. 3 at Hackman’s home with Jeanette Chastain as co-hostess.
