Garry Barrett, 64, of Seymour, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2015, at Schneck Medical Center.

Born Jan. 6, 1951, in Hazard, Kentucky, he was the son of Bruce and Sophia Brewer Barrett. On Nov. 23, 1969, in Seymour, Garry married Nanetta “Nan” Frost.

He was retired after 32 years at The Kroot Corp. in Columbus. He loved the Lord and was a member of Church of Jesus Christ at Easyville. Garry also enjoyed playing guitar, fishing, working puzzles, technology and electronics and spending time with his family.

Other survivors besides his wife of almost 46 years and the love of his life include children, Garry Barrett of Ogden, Utah, Steve Barrett of Vernon, and Julie (William Allman) Barrett-Kelly of North Vernon; grandchildren, Heather Nicole Schmidlap, Sophie Barrett, Sam Barrett, Dillon, Blake Mills and an unborn granddaughter, Juliana; 10 siblings, Larry (Verda) Barrett, Linda (Benny) Barger, Brenda (Gary) Campbell, Darlene Barrett, Teresa (Jerry) Cole, Kenneth (Judy) Barrett, Lynette Wolfe, Jeff (Paige) Barrett, Jerry Barrett and Greg (Jane) Barrett; and several nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Phillip Wolfe; niece, Kelly Wolfe; and nephews, Phillip Edward Wolfe and Danny Hines.

The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Woodlawn Life Celebration Centre at 311 Holiday Square Road in Seymour, with Pastor Jean Pogue officiating.

Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at the funeral home.

Burial will follow services at Riverview Cemetery.
