Weaving group to meet at Brown County State Park

The eighth annual gathering of The SeatWeavers Guild Inc. will be July 31 to Aug. 2 at the Abe Martin Lodge in Brown County State Park.

The public is encouraged to attend the chair display, “Seat Weaving Through the Ages,” from noon to 3 p.m. Aug. 2.

A free foot stool seat weaving class will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Aug. 2 at the lodge. The class is free but limited to the first 12 people to apply. Each student will be able to take home a completed project.

The guild is a national organization of antique chair weavers working in mediums such as cane, rush, wood splints and Danish cord.

Anyone wishing to participate in the entire weekend can apply the morning of Aug. 1.
